ZIP code extractor

Pastes text or an address list in and pulls every US ZIP and ZIP+4 code out into a deduplicated list you can copy, with an optional numeric sort.

This tool is in beta

Still being tested. If a result looks wrong, tell us.

Report a problem

Paste text and the extracted code list appears here.

A match is a run of exactly five digits with no digits touching either side, plus an optional hyphen and exactly four more digits for ZIP+4. That boundary rule is why a phone number like 7855550142 or an order id like 1234567890 leaks nothing: their five-digit pieces sit inside longer runs. Codes stay text, so 00501 keeps its zeros. Two honest limits: 99999 reads the same as 00501 because shape is all this tool checks, and two five-digit runs split by punctuation both come out, so a mistyped 12345-67894 surfaces both halves.

Paste text or an address list

Up to 200,000 characters
Each distinct code appears once, in first-appearance order
Orders by ZIP number instead of appearance, 00501-style zeros intact

The scan runs in this tab as you type. Nothing is looked up anywhere: this reads shapes out of your text and never claims a code exists or names its city.
