- SunCalc 2.0.1 (BSD-2-Clause) computes the position: Meeus/NOAA-derived geometry, the same engine behind every other sky tool here.
- Azimuth is degrees clockwise from true north; altitude is apparent (geometric plus refraction), about a minute of accuracy inside 1900-2100, and dates outside that range are refused.
- Your wall-clock time resolves through the zoned-time engine: DST gaps take the later edge, folds the earlier. The instant used is printed in the table.
- The shadow ratio is flat-ground geometry (1 / tan altitude); terrain and obstacles shift what you actually see.
City list curated from GeoNames (geonames.org, cities500 database, CC BY 4.0), snapshot 2026-08-24, bounded to 151 major cities across six regions. Coordinates rounded to 2 decimals; ids are product slugs, not GeoNames ids.
