Compress Image to 100KB
Get a JPG, PNG, WebP, or HEIC image under 100KB without uploading it.
Why the picture gets smaller
You can reach 100KB with quality alone, but only just. Our 1,920 by 1,280 food photo had to drop to quality 16 to get there, and flat areas turn blotchy when you zoom in. So this page stops at quality 60 and takes pixels away instead. The food photo came out at 981 by 654, which looks soft up close but keeps clean color. A mountain lake kept far more, at 1,766 by 1,177, because calm scenes need fewer bytes per pixel than busy ones.
What counts as 100KB
A kilobyte can mean 1,000 bytes or 1,024, and upload forms rarely say which. This page aims at 100,000 bytes, which passes either way. That's why the card may show a finished file as about 97 KB: it counts in 1,024s.
PNG, HEIC, and other formats
The result is a JPG unless you choose WebP, so a PNG screenshot or an iPhone HEIC photo comes out as a file most forms accept. JPG can't store see-through areas, and they turn white. WebP keeps them, though plenty of forms won't take WebP, so check first.
