Favicon checker

List every favicon declaration on a page, from icon rel variants to manifest icons and the root ico fallback, and check each one resolves.

Report a problem

No icons checked yet

Enter a page address and press Check favicons.

The scan covers link rel icon, shortcut icon, apple-touch-icon and its precomposed variant, mask-icon, the icons array of a linked web app manifest, and the root /favicon.ico fallback when no icon link exists. A check that an icon resolves is one GET through the capped proxy: a 2xx answer means the URL exists, not that the image decodes. The page HTML is scanned as markup, so icons injected by script at runtime are invisible here, and bodies larger than the proxy's preview window are read on their first four thousand characters only.

Page address

What leaves your browser

When you press Check favicons, this project's proxy fetches the page address you entered once, then its web app manifest and each declared icon URL (GET, public hosts only, capped size and time, rate-limited). This page leaves your browser only when you press the button; never on load, never in the background. Nothing is sent anywhere else. Google Analytics still measures the visit to this page, and it never receives what you run through this tool.

More settings▾

Up to 50 icon declarations are listed per source and up to 12 distinct icon URLs are probed per run; the rest are listed unprobed. Previews render as plain image elements pointing at the discovered URLs; SVG is loaded as an image, never as live markup.
