CSS coverage analyzer

Match pasted CSS selectors against pasted HTML samples to surface probably-unused rules, uncertain state and script-driven selectors, and critical-CSS candidates.

This tool is in beta

Still being tested. If a result looks wrong, tell us.

Report a problem

Paste a stylesheet and at least one HTML sample to start.

Stylesheet

Paste the CSS you want to audit.

HTML samples

Several pages? Separate them with a line of three or more hyphens (---).

Everything runs in this tab; nothing is uploaded and no URL is fetched. The matcher reads tags, ids, classes, and attributes from your samples, so it cannot see markup built by JavaScript, shadow DOM, or later page states. Media queries and container queries are shown but never evaluated, and utility-class frameworks such as Tailwind will read as mostly unused against raw HTML, which is a property of those stylesheets rather than a finding. Treat the unused list as a candidate list for manual review, not as deletions.

Options

Comma separated, * wildcard

A pattern shields matching selectors from the unused verdict when they match nothing; a real match still reads as used. Framework classes you know are script-driven belong here, up to 120 characters per pattern.

Caps, hit before any scan: stylesheet 5,000,000 characters, HTML samples 20 documents and 5,000,000 characters together, 20,000 elements indexed per sample. Result lists stop at 500 rows per bucket; the counts stay exact past the cap.
