Reverse IP lookup

Enter an IPv4 address and list the hostnames a passive DNS dataset has seen resolving to it, with upstream rate limits reported honestly.

Observed hostnames, not authority

No DNS protocol maps an address back to hostnames, so this reads a passive-DNS dataset: names that have been seen resolving to the address. A long, unrelated-looking list is normal on shared hosting and CDN space.

The free upstream rate-limits by day, and a spent budget shows here as an error rather than an empty list. The list is an observation record: it says nothing about who owns the address today, and a hostname present there may have moved long ago. For ownership, use an RDAP or whois lookup on the address itself.

What leaves your browser

The address goes to HackerTarget's free passive-DNS endpoint through this site's own fetching proxy, because the endpoint sends no cross-origin headers a browser could read. The proxy caps size and time and rate-limits per client. This page leaves your browser only when you press the button; never on load, never in the background. Nothing is sent anywhere else. Google Analytics still measures the visit to this page, and it never receives what you run through this tool.
