Find IP address location

Looks up city, region, country, postal code, coordinates, time zone, currency, calling code, ASN, and organization for any IP address you enter.

Report a problem

What an IP location can and cannot say

The answer names the city-level area an address is registered in, its network owner, and its time zone. It never names a person, a street address, a phone number, or an email, and the coordinates are the registry centroid, not a rooftop.

IP geolocation maps an address to the place its network is registered, and that place can be wrong: mobile carriers route whole regions through a few gateways, anycast addresses answer from many places at once, and small ISPs register in another city than their customers live in. Treat the city as an area code, not an address. This page queries ipwho.is directly from your browser over HTTPS and shows every field the endpoint did not report as Not reported rather than filling it in. The map is a plain outbound link to OpenStreetMap; no map provider gets your keystrokes or the looked-up address unless you follow that link.

Address

IPv4 or IPv6, one bare address

The address is validated in this tab before anything is sent, so out-of-range octets and CIDR blocks are refused without a request.

What leaves your browser

When you press Look up, the address goes as one HTTPS GET to ipwho.is, a keyless public IP geolocation endpoint. The map link opens OpenStreetMap in a new tab; no keyed map is embedded here. This page leaves your browser only when you press the button; never on load, never in the background. Nothing is sent anywhere else. Google Analytics still measures the visit to this page, and it never receives what you run through this tool.
