MacBook test

Guided MacBook hardware check covering display, keyboard, trackpad, Touch Bar, webcam, sound and battery, ending in a graded report with the serial masked and only the last four IMEI digits shown.

How this works

You walk through nine checks: the display fields (white and grey expose anti-reflective coating wear), keyboard capture, trackpad clicks and scroll, a speaker tone, the webcam and microphone (each asks for permission), a charge-level read from the battery API, and two manual checks: the Touch Bar and the charging port. You grade each one pass, fail, or skip, and the final report is redacted and graded. Everything stays on this machine.

A browser can only test what attaches to the machine, and some MacBook parts sit outside its reach. Force Click and the Touch Bar are guided checks you confirm by hand, because no browser API can feel a firm press or drive that strip. Battery health and cycle count come from System Settings, typed by you, and the report says so. The serial is masked and the IMEI is cut to its last four digits before the report is built, and nothing about your inspection leaves this tab: the camera and microphone prompts come from your browser alone, and no server copy or share link exists.

Operating system
Serial number
IMEI (cellular models)
Seller or reference number
Technician or shop name
From System Settings; marked entered on the report
From System Settings; no browser can read it

All optional. Detail fields appear on the report, with the serial masked and the IMEI cut to its last four digits, so you can share the report without leaking identifiers. Battery figures are yours to enter; the report marks them as entered, not measured.
