Protobuf schema viewer

Parse .proto files in the browser and explore messages, enums, and services with field numbers and reserved ranges highlighted.

Main .proto source

799 characters

Paste a .proto file to browse its types.

This is a schema reader, not a compiler. It parses proto2 and proto3 grammar (messages, enums, services, rpcs, oneofs, maps, options, reserved and extension ranges, proto2 groups) and flags numbering hazards as warnings rather than refusals, so a review sees the whole file. Imports resolve only against the files you paste; wire types, encodings, and cross-release diffs of two schemas are out of scope, and the field map export is the way to compare releases.

Second file, for schemas split across imports

The parse reads both files at once, so an import resolves when its path equals the second file's name.

Up to 20 files and 200,000 characters combined,2,000 messages including nested ones. Imports resolve only within the files you provide; nothing is fetched.
