JSON schema sample generator

Generate seeded sample documents from a JSON Schema plus boundary edge cases, and re-validate every output against that schema.

Still being tested. If a result looks wrong, tell us.

Report a problem

Paste a schema to generate sample documents.

Honesty about the re-validation loop: every document is checked against your schema with a local keyword-subset validator, not Ajv. It checks type, enum, const, required, properties and item bounds, string lengths and patterns, numeric bounds with exclusives and multiples, allOf, anyOf, oneOf, not, and common formats; anything else your schema uses is ignored and listed in the notes. Remote references are never fetched. YAML input accepts plain block mappings and sequences; anchors, aliases, tags, and block scalars are refused. A sample that fails validation is shown as failing, with the reason, because that is what the generator produced.

Schema and seed

Schema formatJSON or the plain YAML subset, up to 100,000 characters
Draft-07 and 2020-12 keywords; local #/ references only
Same seed and schema, same samples
1 to 20
0 to 50, clamped by minItems and maxItems
1 to 16; deeper branches stop and re-validation flags them
Optional propertiesRequired fields are always present

Edge cases mutate exactly one field of the first sample: a string just past maxLength, a number one under the minimum, a deleted required property, a value off the enum. Each case is labeled with the rule it pushes against and judged by the re-validation pass. The edge budget is 60 cases per run.

Everything is generated and checked in this tab from the schema you pasted; nothing is sent anywhere.
