Staffing capacity planner

Add roles with FTE, leave, allocation and utilisation targets, compare productive hours with demand per skill, and see the gap in FTE.

This tool is in beta

Still being tested. If a result looks wrong, tell us.

Report a problem

Add a role row with a skill and FTE to see the plan.

The chain is honest arithmetic, not a scheduler: workdays minus holidays minus leave gives available days per FTE, times hours per day gives gross hours, allocation cuts those to the work in scope, and the utilisation target cuts them again to productive hours. Demand matches roles by skill name ignoring upper and lower case, nothing smarter, so a typo makes demand unmatched and the tool says so instead of guessing. The FTE shortfall assumes a new person works at the same mix as the existing roles for that skill. It does not schedule individuals, track part-year calendars, or model hiring lead time. Nothing leaves this tab.

Ceilings: 10,000 workdays in the period, 10,000 FTE per role, 24 hours per day, 60 characters per skill name, and numbers within ±1,000,000,000. Holidays and leave are whole days subtracted per FTE.
