RICE prioritization calculator

Paste backlog items with reach, impact, confidence, and effort and get a RICE-ranked list with the formula shown per item and round-trip CSV.

This tool is in beta

Still being tested. If a result looks wrong, tell us.

Report a problem

Paste a backlog and press Rank backlog.

RICE scores each item as reach × impact × confidence ÷ effort, where confidence is the percent divided by 100. Ranking is standard competition ranking on the unrounded score, so equal scores share a rank (1, 2, 2, 4) and items within 1% of the rank above are marked as practical ties. The formula shown per item carries your own numbers, and the exported CSV re-imports unchanged. Flags are honest notes, not rescaling: an off-scale impact or confidence still scores with the value you gave. Caps: 1 MB of input, 5,000 items, names up to 200 characters. Nothing leaves this tab; the run is plain arithmetic in your browser.

Backlog

One item per line: name, reach, impact, confidence %, effort
The largest reach reads 100, so one huge audience cannot dominate

0 non-empty lines. Confidence is a percent, so enter 80, not 0.8. Impact follows Intercom's scale (3 massive, 2 high, 1 medium, 0.5 low, 0.25 minimal) and confidence sits at 100, 80 or 50; other values still score but get flagged. A leading header line is ignored.
