Trip budget planner

Plan a trip budget by day and category in several currencies at your own exchange rates, split shared costs by weight, and get who-owes-whom settlements.

This tool is in beta

Still being tested. If a result looks wrong, tell us.

Report a problem

Name the travellers and add cost lines to open the book.

Exchange rates are yours: the tool never fetches a live table, so enter the rate you will actually settle at and change it as the trip goes. Shares split every converted line by weight, balance is what someone paid minus their share, and each settlement transfer is rounded to the cent. Spending tracked here stays in this tab: nothing is stored between visits, so keep the CSV.

The trip book

Code, like EUR
name, weight. One per line, weight optional and default 1; under 1 takes a smaller share. Up to 64.
CODE = value in home currency, one per line, up to 32. Your own numbers; nothing is fetched.
day, category, description, currency, planned, spent, payer, per. One per line, up to 2000. Leave unused columns empty; per takes trip, person, or night.

Lines cap at 400 characters, nights at 3,650, and every amount at ±1,000,000,000. Keep descriptions comma-free: the columns split on commas. A cost paid by a name outside the traveller list is refused rather than guessed onto someone.
