Three-Phase power

Convert between three phase kW, kVA, kVAr, and line current for balanced loads, with line and phase quantities for star and delta.

This tool is in beta

Still being tested. If a result looks wrong, tell us.

Report a problem

Enter a line voltage and one of kW, kVA, or line current.

This is a balanced-load tool. It assumes the three phases carry the same current at the same power factor, so it cannot see unbalance, harmonics, or neutral current, and it reports no demand or diversity figures. Star versus delta changes what each winding sees, never the total: the same 30 kW draws the same line current either way, which is why cable sizing cares about line current and winding (insulation) ratings care about the phase column.

The load

ConnectionChanges per-winding figures only, never total power
Known quantityFill exactly one; the solver works out the rest

A lagging (inductive) power factor is assumed, so kVAr is positive. Leading power factor is not handled.

Numbers stay within ±1,000,000,000, voltage within 1,000,000 V.
