Thermocouple converter

Converts thermocouple millivolts to temperature and back for types K, J, T, E, N, R, S, and B on NIST ITS-90 curves, with cold junction compensation, IEC 60584-1 tolerance bands, and a CSV reference table.

Conversions run over the NIST ITS-90 reference functions (SRD 60, Monograph 175). The reverse direction uses NIST's own inverse polynomials, and the worst error those ever produced against the published table is shown with every answer, so the precision is stated rather than implied. Tolerance limits come from IEC 60584-1 and describe new wire, not a probe that has spent years in a furnace; this page does not replace an instrument calibration. Nothing is sent anywhere: all of it is computed in this tab.

The reference table below is rebuilt at this step, 1 to 500 degrees. Keep the cold junction at 0 if the reading is already compensated or the reference junction sits in an ice bath.

Numbers stay within ±1,000,000. Readings outside a type's published range are refused rather than extrapolated.
