SIP calculator

Project the future value of a monthly investment plan from the amount, expected annual return, and years, alongside total invested and returns.

This tool is in beta

Still being tested. If a result looks wrong, tell us.

Report a problem

Enter the monthly amount, the rate, and the term.

The projection is the standard annuity-due formula: future value = payment x ((1 + i)^n minus 1) over i, times (1 + i), where i is the annual rate divided by 12 and n the months. Contributions count as made at the start of each month, which is why the result sits one month of growth above the ordinary-annuity figure some other tools print. The rate is a nominal annual rate divided by 12, not an effective annual one, and it is held perfectly steady, which markets never do. The math is deterministic and runs in this tab; the inputs are never sent to a server. What the formula cannot do: tell you whether the fund will earn the rate, price entry loads, exit fees, expense ratios, or tax, or model stepping the amount up over time. Treat the number as the shape of a plan, not a forecast.

The plan

The monthly amount stays within ±1,000,000,000,000, the expected return between 0 and 100 percent a year, and the term between 0 and 100 years. The same amount every month, never missed, never changed.
