Salary to hourly rate calculator

Convert an annual salary into an hourly rate from your weekly hours and paid weeks per year, with weekly and monthly figures.

Report a problem

Enter the salary and the hours behind it.

The hourly rate is the salary divided by the hours actually worked in a year, hours per week times paid weeks. The daily figure assumes a 5-day week, so an eight-hour day reads hourly times eight; a four-day week needs the hours entered as they actually spread. The monthly figure is the salary over 12, a calendar month, not a four-week one. None of this prices overtime, shift premiums, bonuses, benefits, or tax: it is the same division your payslip does, in your browser, and no number leaves the page.

The pay

Salary stays within ±1,000,000,000,000, hours within 168 a week, and paid weeks within 53 a year. Paid weeks means actually paid: 52 minus any unpaid leave.
