Overtime pay calculator

Split hours into ordinary and overtime bands with your own thresholds and multipliers to get gross pay and the effective hourly rate.

Report a problem

Enter a rate and hours to split the pay.

This is gross pay for the hours you enter, split by the thresholds and multipliers you set. It leaves out tax, insurance, pension contributions, shift allowances, holiday premiums, and salary sacrifice, and it carries no jurisdiction rules: overtime law differs by country, state, and contract, so the thresholds are yours to choose. The effective rate is gross pay divided by all hours worked, useful for spotting a band split that pays oddly.

The second band must start above the first. Multipliers run 1 to 10.

Rates stay within ±1,000,000,000. Currencies without minor units, like the yen, display with no decimals.
