Ohm's law calculator

Solves DC Ohm's law from any two of voltage, current, resistance, and power, with prefixed units handled and formulas named.

This tool is in beta

Still being tested. If a result looks wrong, tell us.

Report a problem

Enter any two quantities to solve the other two.

This is DC Ohm's law over an ideal resistor, nothing more. It does not model AC reactance or impedance, power factor, how resistance drifts with temperature, or the internal resistance of a real source. A short circuit (voltage across zero resistance) and an open circuit (voltage with no current) are explained rather than printed as Infinity, because a physical answer does not exist for either.

Circuit values

Leave exactly two of the four fields blank.

Each field stays within 1,000,000,000 as typed, before its prefix scales it. Values are magnitudes: this tool takes no negative volts, amps, ohms, or watts.
