Inverter size calculator

Size an inverter from simultaneous appliance loads, covering continuous watts, VA via power factor, motor surge, safety margin, and battery current.

Report a problem

List the loads you would run together to size the inverter.

The result is a planning estimate from nameplate figures. It does not choose between pure-sine and modified-sine waveforms, it covers no electrical code, and it says nothing about wiring, earthing, or how the inverter connects to a supply. High battery current is the usual reason to move from 12 V to 24 V or 48 V. Everything is computed in this tab and nothing is uploaded.

Post-outage restart: every surge priced at once instead of the single largest

Numbers stay within ±1,000,000,000. Surge factors are rules of thumb: 1 for lights and electronics, about 3 for a fridge compressor, 3 to 7 for pumps and motors. Soft-start and inverter-driven appliances start gently, so their factor is close to 1. Power factor is 1 when you do not know it.
