Fuel cost calculator

See how much fuel a trip needs and what it costs, then split the total per person when you travel as a group.

This tool is in beta

Still being tested. If a result looks wrong, tell us.

Report a problem

Enter the trip details to price the fuel.

This is the plain division, nothing live: it does not check traffic, route around tolls, or fetch today's pump price, so type the price you actually pay. Efficiency is distance per unit of fuel. If your car quotes litres per 100 km instead, divide 100 by that figure first: 8 L/100km is 12.5 km/L.

Trip details

Distance per fuel unit, so 12 means 12 km per litre or 25 mpg

Numbers stay within ±1,000,000,000,000. The tool has no unit selects on purpose: keep distance and efficiency in the same distance unit and the price in your own currency, and the arithmetic holds.
