Enter a salary to price the hire.

This is a budgeting estimate, not a payroll filing. It does not model employee-side tax, pre-tax deductions, state or local employer taxes, employment allowances, equity grants, bonuses, raises, or mid-year starts. US example figures come from IRS Publication 15 (Social Security wage base, Medicare, FUTA credit-reduced to 0.6%); the UK line is the employer NI rate and secondary threshold from GOV.UK. Both change; edit the lines to match the current year and your state or scheme.

The hire

CurrencyDisplay only. The math is currency-free.

One per line: name, rate %, threshold, cap. Blank threshold or cap means none. Up to 12 lines.

Numbers stay within ±1,000,000,000,000. The year is 52 weeks. Each contribution line charges its rate to the slice of salary above its threshold (or the start point, whichever is higher), capped at its ceiling on taxable earnings. The preset figures are examples; check the current IRS Pub 15 and GOV.UK tables.
