Demand factor calculator

Enter load groups with their demand and diversity factors and get maximum demand, load factor, and the supply capacity implied.

Add a load group to start the study.

Maximum demand here is the sum of each group's connected load times its factor. A demand factor works as a multiplier (motors run together at 70 percent, enter 0.7) and a diversity factor as the share actually on at once, so both land in the same box. The three phase current uses line-to-line volts: kilowatts times 1000, divided by the square root of three and the voltage. This is an arithmetic schedule, not a code calculation: national rules have their own required factors per occupancy, and those govern a real installation design.

Give both a consumption figure and its period length and the tool adds the load factor. Leave them empty to skip it.

Factors sit between 0 and 1, spare capacity between 0 and 200 percent, numbers within ±1,000,000,000.
