Distance between two lat long points

Type two coordinate pairs and get the straight line haversine distance in km, miles and nautical miles with the initial compass bearing.

Enter both coordinate pairs to measure the gap.

This is the straight line through the air along the Earth's curve, the path a plane roughly flies. It is not driving distance and there is no map here: a routed map needs a paid mapping service, and everything above computes in this tab from the haversine formula over the mean Earth radius of 6,371.0088 km. The bearing is the initial compass heading at the source; follow it and a great circle takes you to the destination, though the heading drifts as you go except when travelling along the equator or a meridian.
