Dew point calculator

Convert between air temperature, humidity, and dew point with the Magnus formula, and grade condensation risk on a cold surface.

Report a problem

Enter any two of air temperature, humidity and dew point.

The Magnus formula with the Alduchov and Eskridge 1996 coefficients turns the saturated vapour pressure curve into a solvable form, so any two of the three readings give the third. Below 0 C the frost point sits slightly below the dew point over water; cheap hygrometers drift a degree or two, so treat single readings as snapshots, not a building survey.

Enter a cold surface such as a window, pipe or wall to grade the condensation and mould risk on it. Relative humidity stays between 0.1 and 100 percent.

Temperature inputs stay within ±10,000. The Magnus coefficients are considered accurate between -40 and 50 C; outside that the answer still computes with a warning.
