Report a problem

Enter a cost, salvage value and life to build the schedule.

This is the accounting arithmetic, not tax advice. The part-year convention here prorates the first year by the months in service and drops the deferred share into the final year; written down value instead compounds on its own opening book, so a short first year leaves the book sitting above salvage, which is how the method behaves. Declining balance charges are capped at salvage so the book never crosses it. The schedule knows nothing about your jurisdiction: no half-year or mid-quarter conventions beyond the months field, no section 179 or bonus elections, no currency conversion, and no rounding to a ledger grid. Amounts never leave this tab.

A first year such as 2026 relabels the schedule rows 2026, 2027 and so on. Months in first year prorates year one and moves the deferred share into the final year. The units list holds up to 100 years.

Money inputs stay within ±1,000,000,000,000; life within 100 whole years. Salvage must sit below cost.
