Debt avalanche calculator

Plan debt payoff with extra money going to the highest APR first and see how it compares with the snowball order on the same budget.

Report a problem

Enter your debts and a budget to see the plan.

Both plans spend the same total every month; the only difference is which debt gets the extra. Avalanche targets the highest APR, which costs the least interest in most cases, but the gap can be small and some people stick to snowball better because the first debts clear fast. This tool models fixed APRs compounded monthly with no fees, late charges, rate changes, or balance transfers, and it is arithmetic, not financial advice.
