Currency exchange fee calculator

Compare the rate you were offered with the mid-market rate you enter, add the fees, and see the markup, total cost, and a provider ranking.

Report a problem

Enter an amount, the rate you were offered, and a mid-market rate.

The tool fetches no rates: you type the mid-market rate from a source you trust, and the result is exactly as current as that number. The mid-market rate is the midpoint between the buy and sell prices you see on reference sites, the rate no retail customer quite gets. The cost splits in two: the markup is the loss hiding inside the offered rate itself, and the fees are the ones stated on the receipt. The two add up in the total, which is why a free conversion at a poor rate can cost more than a fee'd one at a fair rate.
