Credit card payoff calculator

Estimate how long a card balance takes to clear at a fixed payment, with total interest shown and a guard for payments too small.

This tool is in beta

Still being tested. If a result looks wrong, tell us.

Report a problem

Enter a balance, APR, and payment to simulate the payoff.

Each month the balance first accrues interest at APR over 12, then the fixed payment comes off. That is the whole model: no late fees, no cash-advance or penalty rates, no new spending on the card, and no minimum-payment formula, because the payment here is one you pick. This is arithmetic, not financial advice.

Card

Numbers stay within ±1,000,000,000,000, APR within 1,000 %. The simulation window is 1200 months; a payment that needs longer is refused rather than guessed.
