Compound interest calculator

Show the final amount and interest earned for a principal at weekly, monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, or yearly compounding frequencies.

Report a problem

Enter a principal, rate, and term to compound it.

This is the standard A = P × (1 + r/n)^(n·t) with nothing else priced in: no deposits along the way, no tax, no fees, no inflation adjustment, and no year-by-year schedule. The rate is treated as nominal, so the effective annual rate shown is what the chosen frequency actually delivers. Figures are bare numbers; pick your own currency.

More settings▾

Compounding frequency is how often the lender adds interest to the balance. Same rate, more frequent compounding means more money at the end, because each addition starts earning too.

Numbers stay within ±1,000,000,000,000, rates within 1,000 %, terms within 200 years. Fractional years are fine.
