Acceleration calculator

Solve acceleration from speed change over time, distance and time, two speeds, or force and mass, with the working and unit conversions shown.

This tool is in beta

Still being tested. If a result looks wrong, tell us.

Report a problem

Fill in all but one value and the missing one appears here, with the acceleration in m/s², g and other units.

Speeds and velocity get used interchangeably in the labels, but the square-root solves return magnitudes: the positive root. Time solves pick the smallest positive root and refuse when no positive time reaches the distance. What this tool does not do: curved paths, air drag, or relativity.

Formula to use
Solve for
Speeds are inu and v share one unit; everything converts to SI first

Numbers stay within ±1,000,000,000 in their own unit. Fill all but one value and the missing one is solved; negative answers are deceleration.
