Tone generator

Play a sine, square, triangle, or sawtooth tone at any frequency from 20 to 20000 Hz, with a nearest note readout and an oscilloscope view.

Type a frequency to shape a tone.

This is a signal source, not a calibrated instrument: levels are relative to your output device, and a frequency you cannot hear at the extremes is usually your speakers giving out, not your ears. Keep the volume low, especially with headphones, and stop the tone when you are done with it.

Start and stop are ramped so the edges never click, and square and sawtooth play quieter than sine at the same volume because their harmonics carry more energy.
