This tool reads the Archive's own metadata and offers only what the Archive itself offers as downloadable; a track that merely plays on the site is not treated as downloadable. Files come down byte for byte, with no re-encoding, capped at 200 MB per file: long concert recordings in FLAC often pass that ceiling, and the tool will say so rather than hand you a cut-off file. One item at a time, no collection-wide downloads, and the licence the item declares is shown so you can honour it.

What leaves your browser

The link you paste goes straight from your browser to archive.org's public metadata endpoint, and each file is then downloaded straight from an archive.org download node. Nothing is stored. This page leaves your browser only when you press the button; never on load, never in the background. Nothing is sent anywhere else. Google Analytics still measures the visit to this page, and it never receives what you run through this tool.
