Ear training

Train your ear on notes, intervals, chord qualities, and scales with a synthesized quiz, three difficulties, and an explanation after each answer.

Report a problem

Every question is synthesized on the spot with a faded amplitude envelope, so nothing clicks and nothing is recorded. Difficulty changes the exercise itself, not a label: the beginner level drills five consonant intervals upward within one octave with four choices, intermediate widens to nine intervals over an octave and a half with six choices, and advanced uses all thirteen intervals across three octaves with every interval offered as an answer. In equal temperament an augmented fourth and a diminished fifth are the same six semitones, so the quiz asks for tritone and stops there. This is a practice drill, not a hearing test: it cannot measure your hearing thresholds, and it deliberately teaches scale positions and semitone counts rather than song mnemonics.

Replays per question are capped at intermediate (4) and advanced (2); beginner lets you replay freely. Every level states its own answer pool, choice count, and pitch range before you start.
