What this tool does is a format check plus a plain save, nothing more. It does not search sites, get through logins or paywalls, or pull from hosts that block cross-origin reads; when a host does, the tool says so and points you at the link itself. Files are capped at 200 MB, and no licence information exists for an anonymous link, so the rights confirmation is the only gate: save only what you own or are allowed to save.

The link's bytes are checked against real audio signatures before anything is saved, so a link that actually serves an HTML page is refused instead of quietly producing a broken file. The file is saved exactly as the server sent it, with no re-encoding.

What leaves your browser

The link you paste is fetched directly by your browser from its own host, and when the host refuses that read, one HEAD probe goes through this project's proxy to explain why. Nothing is stored. This page leaves your browser only when you press the button; never on load, never in the background. Nothing is sent anywhere else. Google Analytics still measures the visit to this page, and it never receives what you run through this tool.
