# Video background remover

The subject is found by a person-segmentation model that runs in this tab. The model file is fetched once from a pinned CDN on first use; your clip itself never leaves the device. There is no queue and no upload: short clips only, because every frame is decoded, segmented, and recomposited one at a time.

Expect honest limits: loose hair, thin straps, and a subject dressed like the background cut poorly, and fast motion can shimmer from frame to frame. A server job with a heavier model does better; this tool does the private, on-device version.

Transparent mode records a WebM with an alpha channel where the browser's encoder keeps it. Chrome-based browsers play it; Safari and PowerPoint show black there, so pick a solid color for those editors. The PNG frame export always keeps true transparency.
