# Sentence length analyzer

Charts the word count of every sentence, flags long ones against your thresholds, and shows average and variety across the text.

Paste text to chart it.

Sentences split on periods, question marks, exclamation points, ellipses, and line breaks, with closing quotes and brackets kept attached. Decimals like 3.14 stay together; abbreviations like "Dr." can over-split, so skim the chart with that in mind. Words are letter and digit runs, so hyphenated compounds count once. If you set very long below long, the stricter flag wins by precedence. The chart stops at 500 sentences and the flagged list at 50 , but the averages and counts always cover the whole text. Built for prose that separates words with spaces; other scripts will undercount.
