# DOI metadata lookup

Look up public metadata for up to ten DOIs from Crossref or DataCite and export per-record and combined BibTeX, RIS, or formatted references.
DOIs or doi.org links, one per line

Records come from the public Crossref and DataCite APIs, which hold only what the publisher or repository deposited, so a sparse record makes a short reference. The five reference formats cover the common article, chapter, and dataset shapes; they are not full CSL processors, so check the fine points before you submit. Combined BibTeX and RIS downloads include only the records that resolved. Only the DOIs you paste leave the browser, once per run, when you press Look up; nothing is stored.
