# Acronym extractor

Find every acronym in a document, match each to its expansion, and flag the ones never defined or defined late.

Paste, type, or open a document and press Scan.

A definition is a parenthetical pair: "digital subscriber line (DSL)" or "DSL (digital subscriber line)". The expansion only counts when its word initials reproduce the term, so a remark like "API (see chapter 4)" is never mistaken for one. With the toggle off, tokens that read as Roman numerals (II, IV, MIX) are skipped, and LCD stays because it is not one.
