The picture is drawn on a canvas in this tab and never uploaded. Fill mode scales the image until it covers 1920 × 1080 and centers the crop; Fit mode scales it until it fits and centers the leftover space in the pad color. Very large photos are downscaled by the canvas rather than held in memory twice. Some phone photos carry an EXIF rotation flag; if your preview looks sideways, rotate the photo in your gallery app first.
