This colorizer is a compact local transfer, not a neural network: your photo's luma percentiles pick where the color curve hangs (cool-brown shadows, warm midtones, sky-blue highlights), and every output channel is rebuilt from the pixel's own luma, so detail never softens. It runs entirely in this tab and the photo never leaves your device. What it does not do: recognize objects, so grass will not turn green on demand and faces will not get true skin tones; quality sits below hosted AI colorization services. Plausible color is not ground truth, so always compare against the original before keeping the result.
