The comparison aligns the two documents word by word over one continuous stream, so a paragraph that reflows across a page break does not show up as a change, and each change names the page it starts on. Only wording is compared: images, fonts, and layout are not. Word order follows pdf.js extraction, so multi-column pages read in that order, and a hyphenated line break counts as two pieces. The unchanged share is twice the matching words divided by the total words in both files. Tangled regions past the aligner's segment cap are shown as one block replaced instead of a false word-by-word story.
