# Photo metadata discloser & remover

See exactly what a photo file discloses — GPS, device, dates, software — then re-encode it clean. Removal is verified by re-inspecting the output, not assumed.

The format is read from the signature, not the extension — exifr reads EXIF, GPS, XMP, IPTC, ICC, and PNG text blocks.

- No in-place segment rewrite — browsers cannot edit JPEG segments safely; a re-encode is the honest method, and it re-saves pixels.
- ICC color profiles are dropped with everything else — colors may shift on wide-gamut photos.
- Nothing is uploaded — parsing runs in a worker, re-encoding on a canvas, both in your tab.
