The camera request happens only when you press Start. Before that the page shows nothing from any camera — device NAMES stay withheld by the browser until you grant permission, and the page says so instead of listing 'Camera 1'.

- The settings readout is what the TRACK reports (resolution, frame rate, facing) — browsers may crop or scale internally, and two cameras can report identical numbers while looking different. No quality verdicts.
- Denied, dismissed, missing camera, camera in use by another app, insecure page, and unsupported browser are all distinct states here — with the address-bar fix named for the denial case.
