# Permissions Viewer: Query, Never Request

Query this site's permission states live. Query never requests, and onchange keeps the table current.
permissions.query only: never a request · live via PermissionStatus.onchangeQuery states

permissions.query() reads the CURRENT state; it never shows a prompt. That is the distinction this page exists to demonstrate: query is inspection, request is asking. Rows update live while the page is open, change a permission from the address-bar icon and watch the table follow.
