# Laptop test

Walks through a laptop inspection covering display, keyboard, trackpad, webcam, sound, connectivity and battery, records what a browser cannot sense as answered questions, and ends in a graded report.

How this works
You walk through eleven checks: the display's colour fields, keyboard capture, trackpad clicks and scroll, the webcam and microphone (each asks for permission), a speaker tone, a charge-level read from the battery API, and four questions the browser cannot sense: ports, hinge, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and fans. A question gets a recorded answer, never an invented pass, and the final report is graded. Everything stays on this machine.

A browser can only test what attaches to the machine. Ports, the hinge, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth pairings, and fan noise are questions this tool asks you, and your answer is recorded as an answer, never dressed up as a measurement. The battery probe reads only the current charge level, and several browsers removed that API entirely; health and cycle count come from your operating system, typed by you, and the report marks them as entered. Drive, memory, and thermals stay invisible to any web page, and the report names them as untested rather than guessing. Camera and microphone prompts come from your browser alone, and nothing about your inspection leaves this tab.
