# iMac test

Runs a guided check of an iMac or all-in-one, covering display, input, webcam, and sound, ending in a graded report out of 100.

How this works
You go through a short list of checks: the webcam, speakers, and microphone are probed by the browser, while the display fields, keyboard, mouse, ports, and network are things you check yourself against the guidance. At the end you get a graded report out of 100 that you can copy or save for a buyer. Everything stays on this device.

What this tool cannot do
A web page cannot read SMART disk health, load the GPU in any honest way, see temperatures or fan behaviour, or ask Apple about coverage, so those are recorded as untested instead of guessed. The webcam and microphone probes need a secure (https) page and your permission. The report and its details stay in this browser: nothing is uploaded, and there is no server copy to lose.

Dust behind the glass is the classic older-iMac fault; the grey field in the uniformity check shows it as soft shadows that do not move when the image changes. Before handover, sign out of the Apple ID and turn off Find My Mac, or the new owner hits a lock at setup.
