# Desktop computer test

A guided inspection of a desktop PC: monitor patterns, keyboard, mouse, sound, webcam, and network checks with per-check grading and an honest report.

How this works
You walk through seven checks: the monitor's colour fields, keyboard capture, mouse buttons and wheel, a speaker tone, the webcam and microphone (each asks for permission), and a network observation. You grade each one pass, fail, or skip, and the final report states what a browser cannot see: the drive, the memory, the CPU, and the power supply. Everything stays on this machine.

A browser can only test what attaches to the machine: the screen, the keyboard and mouse, the speakers, and a webcam or microphone if one is fitted, plus its own view of the network connection. It cannot see the storage drive, the memory modules, the CPU or its temperatures, or the power supply, and the report names those as untested rather than guessing. Permission prompts for the camera and microphone come from your browser alone; frames and tones never leave this tab.
