# UPI ID format validator

Checks UPI payment address format line by line, names the PSP handle, and warns when an ID sits one character off a known handle.

Paste UPI IDs to check them line by line.

Every result is a format check only. NPCI publishes no register of live handles, so an unlisted handle is reported as unlisted, never invalid: real addresses exist on handles this list has never heard of. The bundled handle table is a dated sample reviewed 2026-10 , and the near miss warning fires when an unlisted handle sits one insertion, deletion, or substitution from a listed one, which is the shape a mistyped payout address usually takes. A passing line says the address is well formed, not that the account exists; confirm payouts with a penny test or a verified beneficiary record.
