# India MICR code finder

Decodes a nine digit MICR code into its city, bank, and branch blocks, or pulls those blocks out of a pasted cheque line.

Paste a MICR code or a cheque line to split it into blocks.

A MICR code carries no check digit, so nothing here can be called valid or invalid in the banking sense. Any nine digits decode the same way, and a structural pass only means the shape is right. The bank block is RBI's own clearing number, separate from IFSC, so bank names are never guessed from it. Confirm the city, bank, and branch pairing against RBI's published MICR list before a payment depends on it.
